What to expect

Farah is available to perform for a variety of events, including for kids and people who are kids at heart. Celebrations like weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, holiday parties, and more are perfect for a performance.

Farah’s shows usually open with a classic entrance with a veil. After the entrance, shows usually include a slower song, instrumental, or emotive piece. To round out a show there’s always some fun audience participation, comedy, a prop, and drum solo.

If you’ve never been to a belly dance show before, enjoy the show, cheer on the dancer and show you’re having a good time. It’s often perfectly fine to tip a dancer. Usually the arm band is the best place but if you’re not sure just place the tip in her hand. If the dancer gets you up to dance, don’t be shy, have fun, she’ll show you what to do.

Rates

In the Maryland, DC, Northern VA area, plan to budget around $300 or more to hire a dancer. One show is any length up to 25min. Since weddings need more flexible timing, plan to spend more to accommodate all the moving pieces. You have enough to worry about on your wedding day, this way, you won’t need to worry about the dancer. If you’re further out from DC, additional travel fees may also apply.

Wait times between shows also include additional fees If you’re planning a holiday party, for holidays like New Year’s Eve and Christmas, rates are double for all private events and restaurants. Farah will work with you to find the package that makes the most sense for your special event.
